Jean-Louis Nehlich, born in Paris, follows the artistic path of his father and grandfather, who were bell sculptors. He starts sketching from a young age and receives classical artistic training in drawing, sculpture, ceramics (Atelier J. Blin), and mosaic (Atelier V. Marzi). He joins the Caron Studio at the Beaux-Arts in Paris before entering the world of cinema posters at Publidécor Studios (M. Chiffe) and Enseigne Publicité (G. Lewinski).

Simultaneously, he takes classes in classical and modern jazz dance (Conservatoire J. Chaurand and Salle Pleyel P. Goubé) and classical guitar (Conservatoire R. Cuéto). Ultimately, he chooses painting as his medium.
